It’s the day after your surgery in Houston for breast implants, and you want to know why you you can’t complete your daily routine. Don’t worry. As any cosmetic surgeon will tell you, that’s normal.   For one thing, you likely will have certain medications to take in order to assist the healing process and reduce the odds of getting an infection.

Furthermore, in most cases, there is a standard 24-to-48 hour post surgery recovery period. Then, following that, you will have a reduced activity period of a few more days. However, once you get through the reduced activity period, don’t expect your swelling and soreness to immediately go away. It’s very common for breast implant patients to experience swelling and soreness for a few weeks after surgery.

Now you may wonder, “how will I know when I can resume exercising and my normal activities?” That’s a question that only your surgeon will be able to truly answer.

However, if for whatever reason, you begin experiencing a shortness of breath, chest pains, or unusual heart beats, you need immediate medical attention. Those are not normal side effects from breast augmentation surgery, and should be taken very seriously. They may even force you to be hospitalized.
